Objective – Become a Super Girl!
Video length: 01:27 minutes
What do you need?
- A safe place to practice: a shallow pool, a quiet beach, or even a Jacuzzi.
- Comfortable swimsuit, goggles and a cap if desired, a towel, and a water bottle.
- Swimming materials (optional in this first phase): board and float (swimming tube for floating).
- Availability of time to repeat the exercises in several sessions.
- And above all, an open attitude, patience with yourself, and a desire to trust the process.
Objective of the exercise
- Understand the ultimate goal of the course: to float relaxed and move with confidence.
- Learn the 6 steps you will follow to achieve it.
- Feel inspired to begin the change.
Course steps
- Learn to relax and familiarize yourself with the water by moving your hands (friendly water).
- Blow bubbles to control your breathing.
- Safely submerge your face.
- Float face down.
- Adopt the Super Girl/Arrow position.
- Learning to kick hard.
- As a bonus: an exercise to start freestyle.
Instructor's advice
- Repeat each exercise many times, for at least 10 minutes each. Performing all six exercises for 10 minutes each gives you a 1-hour class.
- Repeat that class hour 2 to 3 times a week if you can, if you have time.
- Rest in each pool.
- Drink water every 10 minutes.
You'll see that after just the first session you'll already feel more confident!
“You don't need to be an athlete to love the water. You just need to trust yourself. Start slowly. Soon you'll feel free like a floating Supergirl.”
